Unison handmade pastels are created by the labour intensive process of delicately hand rolling, so that the pigment is softly compressed, resulting in fluid colour unlike any other pastel on the market. Created by British artist John Hershey, to his unique formulations using only pure pigments in a cycle of related hues, instead of adding white or black to the colours. The result is intense, vibrant colour application not muddied by the blending of colours.
The colours in the vast range are based on traditional pigments such as cadmiums, cobalts and natural and synthetic earths all mixed to meticulous recipes. Each pastel measure approximately 75 x 20 mm (3 x 6/8 inches) in diameter however this dimension varies slightly due to the hand-making process.
